This project refers to the development of the acoustic design for the Amorada coworking space for psychology offices, a space conceived to accommodate different professionals who conduct simultaneous consultations. In this context, acoustics become an essential element to guarantee privacy, comfort, and quality in the therapeutic experience.

From the project's conception, the objective was to create environments that fostered welcoming, listening, and tranquility, fundamental aspects for the practice of psychology. Acoustics were considered an integral part of the architecture, contributing to the space transmitting an atmosphere similar to that of a home: comfortable, quiet, and emotionally safe for patients.

The acoustic care begins in the reception area, where the treatment of the ceiling and sound-absorbing elements was designed to control reverberation and reduce the propagation of conversations. This prevents the sound generated in the waiting area from interfering with the consultations conducted in the offices.

In the offices, the project focused mainly on acoustic isolation between environments, since consultations occur simultaneously. Specific solutions were adopted for walls, doors, and structural junctions between masonry and window frames, ensuring adequate sealing and preventing sound transmission between spaces. This technical concern is fundamental to ensuring the confidentiality of conversations, an indispensable condition in therapeutic sessions.

In addition to soundproofing, internal acoustic treatment strategies were also applied, such as acoustic ceilings and baffles, which contribute to improving sound absorption and controlling reverberation time. These solutions provide greater speech intelligibility, allowing therapist and patient to hear each other clearly, without vocal strain or interference.

The result is an environment where architecture and acoustics work together to create an atmosphere of silence, concentration, and immersion, favoring a welcoming atmosphere and quality of listening—fundamental elements for the successful development of therapeutic sessions.
