This project refers to the acoustic development of an apartment in São Paulo, designed for discerning clients seeking not only aesthetics and sophistication, but also high-performance sound comfort for everyday use.
From the outset, the integration of acoustics and architecture was a fundamental principle of the project. Instead of treating acoustics as a complementary step, it was incorporated from the conception stage, guiding layout decisions, material selection, construction detailing, and sealing solutions. This integrated approach allows for more efficient results, avoids rework, and ensures that acoustic performance is aligned with the spatial and aesthetic quality of the environment.
One of the main challenges was controlling hydraulic noise, common in vertical buildings, addressed through specific isolation and decoupling strategies for the systems, already planned in the design. Acoustic insulation between rooms was also carefully planned, ensuring privacy and comfort between the different uses of the apartment.
In living spaces, such as the living room and common areas, acoustic treatment was subtly incorporated into the architecture through coverings and construction elements that contribute to reducing reverberation and improving sound quality, without compromising the aesthetic language of the project.
The result is an apartment where architecture and acoustics work inextricably, creating balanced, comfortable, and sophisticated environments—highlighting that the true performance of a space lies not only in what is seen, but also in what is heard.
