This project refers to the development of the acoustic design for the new unit of the Logosophical College in Nova Lima — a building of strong architectural expression, conceived to house a contemporary educational proposal where space, form, and performance go hand in hand.

From the beginning, acoustics were considered an integral part of the project, accompanying the architectural decisions to guarantee sound quality in the different environments of the school: workspaces, common areas, cafeteria, and, above all, classrooms. In educational environments, acoustics are crucial for cognitive performance, directly influencing how students listen, understand, and concentrate.

In the classrooms, the focus was on speech intelligibility, ensuring that the teacher's voice is clearly understood from all points in the environment. To this end, reverberation control and sound distribution strategies were adopted, promoting acoustic comfort, reducing vocal strain on teachers, and significantly improving the quality of learning.

In the common areas and cafeteria, where there is greater use and concentration of people, the project sought to balance noise levels, avoiding excessive sound propagation and creating more pleasant environments that promote both interaction and well-being.

The auditorium was developed with specific solutions to guarantee sound quality in presentations, lectures, and events, considering criteria such as clarity, sound uniformity, and reflection control. The studio was designed to meet the demands of musical activities and recordings, with appropriate acoustic treatment and isolation from other environments, ensuring technical and functional performance.

The result is a project that highlights the importance of integrating architecture and acoustics from the initial conception. More than complementing the space, acoustics acts as an essential element to enhance the user experience, promoting learning, comfort, and excellence in the building's various uses.
