This podcast studio project, developed for the Modernos Eternos 2021 exhibition in Belo Horizonte, was conceived from an intriguing challenge: to create a space that was not merely scenographic, but fully functional, capable of meeting the real demands of professional-quality audio recording.
From the outset, the proposal integrated the concepts of acoustics, architecture, and interior design, resulting in an environment that balances technical performance and aesthetic expression. Unlike many exhibition spaces, this studio was designed for effective use during the exhibition, requiring precise acoustic solutions to ensure clarity in voice capture, control of sound reflections, and auditory comfort.
The acoustic panels and baffles were incorporated as elements of architectural language, acting simultaneously as sound treatment and visual composition. The choice of materials, textures, and colors, in addition to the definition of the surface geometry, contributed to sound absorption and diffusion, avoiding unwanted sound feedback and promoting a controlled and suitable ambience for recording spoken content.
The lighting was designed to enhance the space while simultaneously meeting the needs of audiovisual recording, creating a welcoming, contemporary, and inviting setting. The result is an environment that embodies the concept of "functionality with intention," where every element—from the microphone placement to the panel geometry—was carefully planned.
More than just a studio, the space became an experience: a receptive, comfortable, and technically efficient environment, capable of demonstrating, in practice, how acoustics can be integrated into design to enhance communication and the quality of the content produced.
